New Leadership Delivering Results for Our Community
Christina is a longtime Essex County resident, community advocate and leader. Christina has spent the last 13 years devoting her time to education, community building, and environmental protection. Born and raised in Stoneham, Massachusetts, she graduated from Harvard University and has a master’s degree from UCLA. She has served her community in many roles: Co-Executive Director of Merrimack River Watershed Council; co-founder and president of Masconomet Education Foundation; board member of the Boxford Council on Aging; manager of the Boxford Park Program; Director of Development at Community Giving Tree.
Christina lives with her husband and three sons in Boxford, where they are active in family life and community service.
Christina doesn’t just talk about issues – she works to address them. Upon learning about the sewage overflows in the Merrimack River, she joined the board of the Merrimack River Watershed Council, and soon became the organization’s director, advocating for the river and initiating a water quality monitoring program.
Seeing the need for a larger, accessible senior center, Christina joined the board of the Boxford Council on Aging, and is using her fundraising skills to raise private funds to build a new Community/Senior Center, minimizing cost to taxpayers. For the past 12 years, Christina has directed Boxford’s park program, providing healthy summer activity for over 450 children and jobs for 50 teenagers annually. She co-founded an educational foundation that has raised over $400,000 for STEAM education. She led the effort to grow a local charity to help over 10,000 low income children each year.
Christina is passionate about protecting our environment, advocating for clean energy and a green economy, and preserving our seniors’ financial independence.
